JOLLY HARBOUR
Jolly Harbour is one of the largest and most popular residential resorts in the Caribbean. It is spread over some 375 acres on the west coast of the beautiful island of Antigua, and features its own beach, commercial shopping centre, extensive marina, 18-hole golf course and numerous other recreational facilities. For homeowners’ convenience, a regular shuttle service runs between Jolly Harbour’s homes, shopping centre, golf course and the beach. The resort offers a variety of existing villas for sale at affordable prices, many of them on the waterfront with their own berthing facilities. Since 2005, Jolly Harbour has been in the hands of La Perla International Living, the first global brand in residential real estate and creator of exceptional international living concepts. Aside from improvements currently planned or underway to the existing facilities such as the commercial centre, La Perla is offering plots and new homes on picturesque Reeds Point, Pearns Point, Hallpike, Harbour Island, as well as luxurious apartments in the Marina Residences development on the waterfront near the harbour.
Harbour & Marina
Jolly Harbour’s marina is the largest in the Caribbean, situated in lush, well-tended tropical surroundings. With 24/7 security, it provides a safe, protected environment for the yachts of homeowners and island visitors alike. The marina and boatyard offer all the seafaring services and facilities necessary – even for super yachts – at competitive prices. Jolly Harbour yacht club is a central meeting point and organiser of activities for those who love sailing the high seas.
Jolly Harbour marina offers 150 slips, most with fresh water and 110/220 volt electricity connections. The fuel dock provides gas, diesel, oil, lubricants and ice 7 days a week. On-site Port Authority officials handle arrival and departure formalities, and fax, postage and mail services are also available.
Boatyard
Do-it-yourself, or use on-site independent contractors for yacht maintenance, repair and improvement. All necessary materials, equipment and expertise are available for painting, carpentry, electrical work and more. Other services include laundry, chandlery and boat sales. Rigging and sail repair can be also be arranged.
Super Yacht Terminal
The marina offers a select number of berths that can accommodate yachts up to 80 metres (260 feet) in length. These berths feature water, telephone, cable television, direct-fuelling and 50- and 60-cycle, three-phase power connections. On-dock direct sewage disposal is complimentary.
Yacht Club
Jolly Harbour has its own, very active yacht club that organizes Saturday afternoon racing matches, as well as several larger events throughout the year. The resort plays host to top international regattas, such as Antigua Sailing Week, which draws hundreds of competitors from around the world. Jolly Harbour also serves as a rendezvous and provisioning point for international transatlantic yacht rallies.
Golf
Jolly Harbour’s 18-hole, par 71 championship golf course was designed by Florida’s leading golf-course architect, Karl Litton. Located next to the Super Yacht Terminal, it features sculpted green fairways and seven challenging lakes set in beautifully landscaped tropical parkland.
You’ll find all the amenities you’d expect at a top-class course, including a clubhouse, pro shop, bar, restaurant and locker room. Motorised and pull golf carts are available, as are clinics and private lessons. The Golf Club is open to the general public for a one-off fee on a daily basis. Weekly specials and annual memberships are also offered.
Shopping
Jolly Harbour’s commercial shopping centre, located at the centre of the resort, features a wide variety of convenient shops and services, including a bank, pharmacy, hairdresser, travel agency, gourmet supermarket, home and hardware store, and bait and tackle shop. Art and craft galleries, boutiques, music and jewellery stores provide opportunity for more leisurely shopping, and car, moped, bicycle and boat rental can be arranged here as well. The bars and restaurants of the centre, which face tropical gardens and the marina waterfront, not only offer a great selection of local and international cuisine, they’re also delightful places to just relax and watch the bustle of harbour life.
Recreation
Opportunities for fun and relaxation abound at Jolly Harbour! Aside from organised games such as squash, golf and tennis, you can hit the beach, enjoy a wide variety of watersports, and run or cycle for miles within the extensive and picturesque compound. You can explore the waters around the island and its 365 beaches on sailing cruises that depart from the resort every day. Fishing charters and helicopter sightseeing tours are easily booked at the on-site commercial centre. And after a full day in the sun, try your luck at the Casino or wind down at one of Jolly Harbour’s great bars and restaurants – some even offer live entertainment for your listening pleasure or dancing under the stars.
Sports Centre
The BBR sports centre overlooks the Marina with an entrance right on the docks, and features an open-air bar and restaurant where the cool trade-wind breezes have free play. Live entertainment makes it a popular spot in the evenings, and you can follow all major international sport matches here on satellite TV. But the main focus at the centre is on being active yourself.
The four floodlit tennis courts offer a choice of surfaces (clay or Astroturf), and the glass-backed squash court makes games as exciting to watch as to play. There is also a gym, basketball half court and – for those who prefer not to work up a sweat – a pool table, table football and darts. The crystal-clear 25m swimming pool is perfect for splashing, serious swimming or simply lounging about in the sun. A full range of sports equipment is available for rental, and staff are happy to help find partners for keen players. Both short and long-term memberships are available.
Beach Sports
The Jolly Harbour beach is one of the most beautiful on the island, and there’s much more to do there than just swim and sunbathe. Possibilities include wind surfing, beach cat and sunfish sailing, water bicycling, skiing, parasailing, sausage runs, jet-skiing, wave running and ocean kayaking. All the equipment necessary for an active beach day is available for a reasonable fee.
Helicopter Tours
Antigua by air! There’s no better way to appreciate the wonder and beauty of the island. Caribbean Helicopters Ltd offers sightseeing tours over a variety of picturesque routes, from skimming the coastline over translucent waters, colourful reefs and hidden beaches, to swooping over Shirley Heights and historic English Harbour. On the Full Island Tour, you can see all the island’s 365 famous beaches for yourself! But every tour offers truly amazing panoramic views, great photo opportunities and priceless memories for everyone.
villas rentals (optional)
Jolly Harbour offers a variety of existing villas, townhouses and apartments for rent. The villas have beachfront, mountain, golf course or marina views, and lounge areas opening onto a spacious patio overlooking berthing facilities for yachts up to 40 feet in length and with 8'6" maximum draft. Kitchens are open-plan, looking into the dining and lounge area. Master bedrooms in the villas have their own balcony.
All waterfront accommodations at the Jolly Harbour Villas complex are furnished two story townhouses. The ground floor features a basic kitchen, storage area, WC and living/dining room that opens out to a private covered patio, complete with outdoor furniture. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. One has a queen size bed and the other is furnished with twin beds. Both one- and two-bathroom apartments are available. All of the villa apartments have direct-dial telephones and are fan-cooled. Air-conditioned villas are available at a small additional charge. Please note that furniture packages may vary per villa.
MARINA RESIDENCES
The new Marina Residences will consist of 38 apartments overlooking the ever active Jolly Harbour marina. Situated next to the commercial and social heart of La Perla’s Jolly Harbour, these apartments will facilitate convenient quality living – with shops, a sports centre, a wide range of restaurants – all within walking distance from your front door.
REEDS POINT
With 21 hillside and 10 waterfront plots, the small private peninsula of Reeds Point is situated at the northern end of the half-kilometre long Jolly Harbour beach. All plots have stunning views over aqua-marine waters. Reeds Point is a stunning setting for any home and provides easy access to all the amenities of La Perla’s Jolly Harbour.
PEARNS POINT
This large and beautiful peninsula features 7 beaches and at its highest point offers spectacular 360-degree views of Caribbean Sea and mainland. The building concept consists of residential plots for villas ranging in size from 1,500m2 to 3,000m2, as well as various apartments and townhouses. A single point of access ensures maximum security and privacy.
HARBOUR ISLAND
With 132 residential plots, Harbour Island will become a waterfront community at the very heart of Jolly Harbour. Private and secure with a single point of access, residents will live in immediate proximity to all the services and recreational facilities offered within La Perla’s Jolly Harbour.
